Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has demanded his team win at last in Serie A as they bid to avoid their worst five-game start to a season for 66 years.
Allegri takes Juve to Spezia on Wednesday, having snatched just two points from his first four league games in charge, a far cry from what he was looking for on his return to the top job.
Juventus have only once begun a Serie A season without winning any of their opening five fixtures, and that was in the 1955-56 season.
This is the fourth time they have strung together four without a victory at the start of a campaign, and Allegri called on his players to make sure the wait goes on no longer.
Our technical qualities will have to come out in the long run, Allegri said. We have to win, and then we will …
Talksport understands that Fernando Torres has turned down the chance to move to China.
The Atletico Madrid man is out of contract in the summer and had been linked with a lucrative switch to Super League side Dalian Yifang.
However, he is set to reject the opportunity and assess his options at the end of the season.
Since returning to Atleti, initially on loan in January 2015 Torres has racked up one hundred and thirty-two appearances in all competitions, scoring thirty-two goals.
Prior to his switch to the Spanish capital he had a brief stint with AC Milan having spent seven years in England.
He played one hundred and forty-two times for Liverpool, then one hundred and seventy-two times for Chelsea, where he won the FA Cup, Europa League …
Brazil preserved their perfect record in 2022 CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying after edging Chile 1-0 on Thursday.
Everton Ribeiro came off the bench and scored the winning goal in the 64th minute as Brazil made it seven wins from seven games on the road to Qatar 2022.
Brazil – back in action for the first time since their Copa America final loss to La Albiceleste in July – are six points clear of Argentina atop the standings ahead of Sunday s mouth-watering showdown in Sao Paulo.
Chile, meanwhile, are seventh in the 10-team qualifying section in South America, three points adrift of the play-off position.
A refusal by Premier League clubs to release players for international matches in COVID-19 red-listed countries meant Brazil were without the likes of…
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer backed Anthony Martial to find form after Manchester United were stunned by Sheffield United in the Premier League.
Martial has scored just twice in 16 league appearances this season and was unable to have an impact as his side suffered a shock 2-1 loss at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
Solskjaer is confident the forward will recapture his best form, but understood questions over the 25-year-old and his team as a whole.
The whole team will probably get criticism and myself as well. I don t think Anthony s exempt from that, the United manager told a news conference.
I think we all should be criticised because we didn t perform. I know Anto, he s working really hard in training, working on his finishing, working on his movement. I ve got …
Thiago Alcantara is excited at the prospect of playing in the FA Cup final against Chelsea, having narrowly missed out on appearing in Liverpool s previous showpiece game this season.
The Spain international was named in the starting line-up for the EFL Cup final in February, also against Chelsea, but had to pull out after injuring his hamstring in the warm-up.
Thiago could be seen in tears on the substitutes bench, though was in a better mood later on as he watched his team-mates triumph 11-10 on penalties at Wembley.
Speaking to Liverpool s official website ahead of Saturday s clash, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich playmaker explained why he got so emotional that day, and what it meant to the players to lift a trophy after a difficult previous season.…
Scotland’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Georgia was interrupted for work to the pitch ahead of an inspection after the hosts took the lead amid farcical conditions at Hampden.
A torrential downpour in the hour before kick-off led to the match kicking off in unplayable-looking conditions.
Simple passes were getting stuck, water was splashing up with every step and a well-struck shot from the visitors almost stopped in the goalmouth, although it was going wide anyway.
10 | The match official has suspended the match for twenty minutes to give time to clear the pitch following substantial rainfall.

Juventus, who were beaten 4-1 by Madrid in June s Champions League final were represented by veteran goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who also scooped the FIFA Best Goalkeeper prize.
